Kraftwerks in the Keys

About the Artist

Tropical Acrylics with a whimsical flair. Color saturated landscapes, lavishly textured forming abstract to realism.

My mission as an artist is to bring my work to as many people as possible...to give everyone the opportunity to see the world as I see it...to bring some poetry into other lives. I especially love to see the reactions of people to my work...I love to see them smile, and I love to see the conversations that my work inspires.

My work is whimsical and inspired by my environment in the beautiful Florida Keys. Being an island girl leads me to paint with big, vibrant colors. My palette is the bird of paradise, the bright bougainvillea, and the blinding white of an egret in flight. Splashing acrylic paint on a bright white canvas brings me so much joy that each day is the beginning of a wonderful promise...a gift, really, that I will share my work with the world.

I have a degree in English literature from the University of Connecticut, have traveled throughout the country, and have held various jobs in the media field. I began flirting with art when I made my first quilt and brought it to the local art festival...and sold it! That was 30 years ago and I have been in love with the art of self expression ever since.

Quilting led me into experimenting with acrylics as they lent themselves completely to fabric. As a fiber artist, I painted quilts and pillows, embellishing them with embroidered poetry. This led me to experiment on canvas...and now I feel completely at home.

Thank you and enjoy my work!
